Widows Sons South West Chapter has become valued for the support it provides to Lodges, particularly those that have experienced a decline in membership.
As well as being Freemasons as active members in their respective mother lodges, Widows Sons brothers also take up office and membership of a number of lodges in the South West Chapter area.
This started with the Lodge of the Chisel No 9398 – now successfully handed over to the Province of Cornwall to be a University Lodge. In 2018, the Devonshire Mayflower Lodge No 7241 was rescued from the point of handing back its charter to become the first Motorcycle Enthusiasts’ Lodge in the South West.
Similarly, in 2019, the Earl of St Germans Lodge No 7031 has been able to continue its history in Wadebridge, Cornwall and will now go on to celebrate its 70 year anniverary in 2021.
